Sharing experiences: case studies from the Launch Event

During the Launch Event of the Change Alliance in December 2009, several case studies were presented. It was an interesting exercise, where the challenges as well as the possible advantages of multi-stakeholder approaches became visible for the participants as well as the presenters of these cases.

Currently, the Alliance is moving on and actively trying to find interesting issues to share with its members. Therefore we have created a visual space on the website where people share their experiences. The presented case studies could gene-rate interaction and eventually lead to shared action learning through the Alliance.

Expectations and contributions

Since the Launch Event of the Change Alliance, 40 users have subscribed of which 26 have created a profile on the website. As member of the Change Alliance support group I am really interested in what YOU - an individual member -  expect from the Change Alliance. In order to create a learning alliance where people actively share and discuss their experiences, we have to get some grip on what it is exactly that you want to share, learn, or discuss in this alliance.

I can imagine that this is kind of an open question. Therefore I will provide some directions that may be useful. Please do not feel obliged to follow these suggestions, if you have some creative ideas on how ...

Spreading the news on the Alliance

Today we had a Skype meeting of some of the foundation group members and support group members. A key message from the meeting was: we need to spread the word about the Alliance.

After the succesful Launch of the Alliance last December, the registrations on the website are coming in. However, hardly all of those attending the event, or who showed interest in the Alliance past have done so.

Hence, we are making a new effort to communicate the progress about the Change Alliance to a wider audience.

I have sent an email to a the participants of the Launch event and a longer mailing list today. Let's see if this has an effect on the number of registrations ...

Change Alliance Update

We have now explored the idea of the Change Alliance with more than 30 different organisations and found much resonance with the rationale and ambition.

At this stage the initiation of the Alliance is being financially supported by ICCO, Wageningen International and the Generative Change Community.

As you may be aware, over the last year we have engaged with the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DGIS) who expressed interest in the Alliance and have been considering funding support. Based on initial interactions, the Foundation Group had been hoping that funding may have been available for the second half of 2009. Unfortunately, DGIS has not come to a decision on future support and engagement.
